HODGEPODGE HOLLOW: A POTIONS PRIMER Review by DoubleGames
Hodgepodge Hollow by BigFishGames will provide you with a lot of fun if you are 5 or 6 years old child player.
The plot is also childish: the gnomes are tired of being robbed by dragons,so they decides to cook up potions to defeat them. In spite of have special recipes and access to ingredients, still they can’t make potions by themselves. Thus, they teach you how to make these potions. If you are still interested in this hidden object experience, get ready to try its repetitive gameplay. All you ever do just collect things to make potions. It is fun, but for toddler player.
It’s even worse when you see grim faces of game heroes. The result is that all the flowers, bees, gnomes look extremely sad, as if they are ill or hurt badly. So you begin to feel guilty yourself especially when you have to use part of flowers or bees. Nevertheless, the scenes of Hodgepodge Hollow are beautifully drawn. If you can keep ahead from those sad mow, you might enjoy this game quite a lot. But if you get accustomed to think too carefully about the game, it gets quite gloomy and existentially depressing.
It is supposed to be a fairy-book game, but is too creepy instead, as though everyone is charmed or even frozen. But the main downside is that every hero has weird faces, misshapen features, and no one can smile. Hodgepodge Hollow is a very depressing game. We wonder, if kids can appreciate this installment. We cannot, for sure.
