THE INQUISITOR Review by DoubleGames
Welcome to the new game world of browns and earthy colors! Now we are going to review the fresh hidden object title “The Inquisitor” developed by Legacy Interactive. It based on a gloomy storyline that dwells upon a young monk sent to clear up whether or not a young woman really is a witch. Well, it would be fondly to expect gags from the game with the title like this. Surely, the title itself has already given you some hints at game’s mood. Still, let us share our impressions with you.
Usually we complain on game’s short length, but this time we believe that “The Inquisitor” is too long. Ironically, the game’s biggest strength can be also its greatest disadvantage. The story spins out by means of numerous cutscenes and there is no way to speed them up. The plot itself is great and gives players enough time to plunge into game atmosphere, but if you are not a great admirer of cutscenes you will be very annoyed.
Starting out “The Inquisitor”, get ready to deal with dark and murky hidden object backgrounds. Depressing scenes and lots of tiny items make the object searches utterly stultifying. The hint button is slowly to fill, and the cutscenes are too long. The mini game where you need to find the differences is just about impossible without using the hint a few times. There is no tutorial so you will be guessing your way through.
However, if you are tired of pretty games of this genre, this title will please you very much. Just wait until the evening comes, switch off the light and start playing. The creepy environment of the game won’t leave you indifferent.
