The main character of the game, a young lady, had a terrible nightmare about her chief – John. After awakening, she found John’s address written on a mirror in the bathroom. It was unlikely that someone would break into her apartment without any noise and leave his address. There was something wrong with this situation. Inner voice told her that John have got into some trouble. In spite of having misgivings, she decided to visit John. His mansion gave her a cold welcome. Something weird happened within a backyard first. Then, entered the house, she found fainted John in the hall. Using a glass of water, she helped John regain consciousness for a while. It was enough for him to alert her about the presence of his client in the house following which he blacked out again. She understood one thing: the stranger hid somewhere and he was not a human. We suppose this information would be enough for you to make a decision about attractiveness or unpleasantness of this game. On the whole, the gameplay of Enigma Agency: The Case of Shadows is indistinguishable from any other Hidden Object based game. You are given a mansion and bordering surroundings as the areas to explore. You must locate the hidden items, place them in the inventory and combine them with the interactive objects. Normally, inventory is hidden at the bottom of the screen, it pops out into the view after mousing over it. Hidden Object scenes are regular. Sometimes it is hard to find an object due to the prevalence of the dark color scheme and small dimensions of the required item. While the Adventure is feebly marked, the Puzzles are strongly emphasized. Developers have worked hard to create unique and sophisticated riddles. We can say they have succeeded in it! These amazing puzzles are worth the time you will spend on their resolving. Do not press the skip button, otherwise you will miss a lot of fun! Draw your attention to the tasks that require to build the chain reaction based mechanisms. Improvise and use materials from your inventory in order to create them. As usual, you are given a map that indicates incomplete missions. Unfortunately, it will not give a jumping option – in order to return to the previous location mouse clicking must be applied. If you have led yourself up to a blind alley, use the hint button. Fortunately, it recharges quickly.
As we have already mentioned, the dark colors prevail in the presented color scheme. We believe it is made intentionally. Our point is that this kind of game must have an oppressive and mysterious atmosphere. So, this color box combined with enigmatic and anxious background music are meant to create it. We suppose the aim is targeted.
Summarizing everything we can characterize Enigma Agency: The Case of Shadows as nearly the best game among the Hidden Object genre. A fly in the ointment is the progress of a storyline. It is very slow. In addition to that, the lack of Adventure element is evident. Anyway, we can assure you will not regret allowing this game to entertain you!
