JEWEL QUEST MYSTERIES: THE ORACLE OF UR REVIEW BY DOUBLEGAMES

Jewel Quest Mysteries: The Oracle of Ur is like your favorite chocolate sweet that you have liked for a very long time until one day it nearly broke your tooth because there was a hard nut. Will you try this sweet again after this accident? We know that this game series is one of the best Hidden Object and Match-three hybrid but today this chapter has disappointed us very much.    .. Read more

In the fourth entry into this Hidden Object series, you should follow Emma, Rupert and Sebastian on their adventure across the Middle East to help them retrieve the Oracle of Ur. Do you see any changes in the story? Yes, this is the same plot twist without any surprises.

Like the previous titles, Jewel Quest Mysteries: The Oracle of Ur is rather a Hidden Object game than a match-three one. This installment was always famous for its high-quality production values and smooth gameplay, however this time around it betrays its best features. Why has iWin decided that microscopic items are so funny? We really doubt, but this very fact will drive you crazy. Some items are still hard to see after the use of 4 hints!!!

The problem is that the graphics are outdated and too grainy. While the gameplay here functions technically, it’s a rather boring affair with a fairly uninteresting story. Moreover, some of the voice acting is downright awful, being completely monotones and lifeless.

Well, with so many games to choose from the hidden object and match-three lists, Jewel Quest Mysteries: The Oracle of Ur is a simply average experience. Even if you are mad on past titles in the Jewel Quest Mysteries series, there is not much reason not to give this one a try as it’s essentially the same game as the first, the second and the third one. However, if you are new to the series, there might not be enough reasons here to awake your interest in this game premise.
