Lego Worlds

When TT Games and Traveller's Tales released LEGO Worlds in Early Access on Steam the game was has true open-world sandbox features. Players loved it. There were just minor tweaks left like fixing the intricate and uncomfortable controls. Imagine how puzzled these players were when the game was released from Early Access with unfixed controls problem and shut-down open world. As the result, LW has a very limited map with two modes: quest-based and sandbox. The quest mode relies on a chain of missions that unlock new items for a player in case of completion. There are two problems with it. Firstly, these unlockables are already available in sandbox mode. Secondly, all quests are centered around the same challenges involving fetching something to NPCs. The Sandbox mode allows you to build everything you want out of lego blocks but offers no empty world. Your world will be populated with certain mobs and biomes which makes freedom of action in this mode useless. Constructed structures can be painted or blown-up in a picturesque style and that's it. No other activities were designed for this. Lego Worlds seemed to be a great idea on paper but actual implementation suffered a lackluster development.
