Lost Souls: Enchanted Paintings

The first and foremost feature that we will review is the story of the game. The storyline in Lost Souls: Enchanted Paintings is not quite original, but still has many good sides to it, and it goes as follows: A woman named Bella receives a mysterious painting, and because she liked it, she hangs it in her son’s room. However, in the middle of the night she hears a scream coming out of his room and she rushes there, only to see that her son is disappeared and the painting is changed to his image. She reports her son’s disappearance to the police, who investigates but has no clues whatsoever, so she has to turn to otherworldly forces in order to find her son. She seeks help from a fortune teller who directs her towards the picture. The painting gets mysteriously torn and scattered into many pieces, so she has to enter other worlds looking for the pieces of the canvas to complete the painting, and this is how our incredible journey into the dark and unknown begins!  So, as you can see, the storyline is quite original, but what lacks is a great twist or a very good ending, even though the one we have will be as mysterious and interesting.

Second feature in Lost Souls: Enchanted Paintings we really liked is the gameplay! The gameplay in this single player Hidden Object game with a lot of Puzzle and Adventure-games spirit is absolutely fun! First thing you do is choosing the difficulty level: either the easy mode (60s to recharge hints and a lot of sparkles to help you) or the hard mode (100s to recharge hints and sparkles in Hidden Object scenes). The core of the gameplay consists of three parts: the first one is that with Hidden Object scenes, which come with two types of lists, textual and with pictures, from which you look for hidden objects. The second one is the one with Puzzles which are scattered all over the game, and there are many old, but also some new and fun like weighing gems on old scales… Most of them are pretty easy, so no problem there. The third part is the adventure style part, where the player picks objects and uses them interactively in combination with other objects. This is the most entertaining part of the game, and the most difficult one. There is of course a map that will help you, as well as the hint system.

Finally, the graphics and the sound are last on the list of features: cartoon graphics are very interesting, clear and bright with excellent artwork. The sound is good, just like the voiceovers, and the music is nice.

To summarize, Lost Souls: Enchanted Paintings is a good Hidden Objects/Puzzle/Adventure game which has great threefold gameplay, an interesting and immersive storyline, stunning graphics and nice music. You can either try it by downloading the free trial version, or you can purchase the game and play it in full version. Despite some minor flaws, you will definitely enjoy it!
