According to the storyline you have to scour the streets of London in time and reveal a gruesome secret in this game. The title sticks to the traditional mechanic for this sort of game. So you can navigate locations, clicking on sparkles to investigate items or solve puzzles. Luckily, Dreadfuls Sweeney Todd Collector`s Edition has absolutely outstanding visuals that serve to the somber atmosphere. Despite they are immensely detailed, more than once you will find yourself reaching for the recharging hint button. Most of the puzzles are notable for their originality and sophisticated type.
While the hidden object and puzzle scenes were very well done, the gameplay didn’t manage to avoid some spots. It is a bit disappointing that from time to time you are made to do some illogical activities. Often they take a lot of time and make you boring, if not angry. Honestly, after it happens again and again, it starts looking like the idea to pad the gameplay in a cheap way. Another fall is connected with the singing that might be hardly called singing at all. The trouble lies in the fact that the developers drop tunes in the ordinary conversation. Sometimes it sounds rather funny but mostly annoying.
Besides odd-ball puzzles Penny Dreadfuls Sweeney Todd Collector`s Edition offers you an in-game walkthrough that can be helpful for some vague cases. Also there is the ability to replay any hidden-object scene or puzzle from Extras menu. Surely, it is a remarkably good title and marks the start of a very high quality series to watch out for. If you are looking for a nice intriguing game, this title is perfectly right to train your hidden object skills.
