Phenomenon: City of Cyan

The deserted city populated with strange creatures and conflict with supernatural enemies are pretty familiar to most hidden object fans, however this installment is ready to offer us something really enjoyable. The great part of Phenomenon: City of Cyan brings a lot of fun indeed and somehow looks rather different. Most of the puzzles and mini-games are interesting and special. Some of them are a bit of a challenge, but they never make you using the skip button. The hidden object scenes give us a traditional list of items to find, some items requiring actions.

Additionally, there is an interactive map that shows you active areas but doesn’t let you jump from one location to another. It is not a big issue as there is no backtracking moves.

The artwork is very pretty, with lots of vivid color and interesting design. Unlike most cartoonish games, Phenomenon: City of Cyan’s colors are breathtakingly beautiful, the characters look like real people with great attention to very tiny details. The music background is nice, kind of unearthly at times. The voice-overs are different there, ranging from quite good to a bit lame, but nothing too worthy. The way of narration is also rather pleasant without any misunderstandings.

All in all,  Phenomenon: City of Cyan is a short game but still bring some fresh air into Hidden Object genre.
