Firstly, there is no “relaxed mode” option. You have to amass a certain number of resources and you have to get them within the time allotted. In fact, there is no in-story reason for these great rush; according to the plot, you are the only person who’s interested in restoring these ancient monuments, so it doesn’t matter if you get them done in a hurry or not. Of course, fast-paced gameplay adds some challenge to the title but it’s surely the cheapest way.
Worse yet, the Match-3 board doesn’t cover the whole screen of your monitor. This means that the items on these boards are extremely small and some of them are even hard to see. The graphics of the Match-3 board is pretty average with lots of grainy grey shades. This isn’t bad when the item in question is a red apple or a stack of gold coins, but it doesn’t contrast well with light-grey nails and dark-grey stones.
The music background is plain and repetitious. It’s seem there are only two primitive notes in a rhythm and sounds something like this: “Dah-dah-dah”. Once these notes end, they loops around to the beginning again and again. This “song” drives you crazy from the very beginning, so you have nothing to do but turn it off.
The more you play the more you believe that the developers used primitive makeshift to make Rebuild the History. For example, the instructions are not only written on a small area but do not fit the entire screen!!! To our mind, it is absolutely unacceptable today.
Well, if you have nothing to do or it’s rainy as cats and dogs, or Rebuild the History is the only game that you have on your computer, you can play it. To tell you the truth, if this game was the only game on our planet, anyway, we would never play this.
