TALES FROM THE DRAGON MOUNTAIN 2: THE LAIR REVIEW BY DOUBLEGAMES

Tales From The Dragon Mountain games series for computers and macs consists of two parts only. The first one wasn’t impressive enough for us to write a full review, though we played it til the end. Another part is another story and we can’t wait to tell you what we think about it. Named simply The Liar, this sequel is a continuation of the first part The Strix. Again we get to meet Mina and Malik, her best friend. Together they must defeat the Lord Strix who is back for revenge... Read more

The storyline here doesn’t present us anything that we didn’t see before. You help two characters overcome all challenges, interact with other characters and more. It doesn’t happen very often, but we didn’t like the graphics in this game. It doesn’t mean they are bad or not at all beautiful, they are colorful and clear and unique, they are just not for our taste. Some scenes look weird and our opinion, dull and boring and simple. Strange 3D effects don’t make it all any better. But anyway, the graphics improved a lot since the first release. The background music sounds good, voiceovers are above average. There’s nothing wrong both with the music or graphics, they just don’t have anything spectacular.

Compared to the first game, the gameplay in this sequel improved a lot as well. It was a big step forward for Cateia Games. Mini-games became more various, challenging and fun to play. We liked the full redesigning of the hint button – it has new look, new functions and guide you through the most difficult tasks.

So, all in all Tales From The Dragon Mountain: The Liar is just a decent game that not everyone will like. At least it’s way more entertaining than its predecessor, so if you want to give it a try just download the game on computer for free and play to enjoy.
