Terraria
Terraria has this nostalgic feel of classic platformers. However, it's just aesthetics. As you begin exploring the game's open-world environment generated in a random order, you'll find out it's well designed and complex. The story here is far from being linear. Instead, it's up to the player to decide whether she or he wants to dig deeper into endless caverns in search of gems and artifacts or measure strength with opponents. It's a good idea to learn some magic spells first (yes, there is sorcery) or obtain something serious in the weaponry department, like canons or laser guns. As you can see, nothing is impossible in this game by design. Since the main focus is exploration, precious findings await players underground. Rare items, valuable metals, and gems are hidden in the soil ready to be unearthed. All of these can be traded for other items. Crafting is another well-thought addition to the gameplay. Combining various things you can create firearms, equipment, tools, and many more. Don't forget to take care of a shelter where you can spend the night. It's important because the whole day span in Terraria equals just twenty four minutes.
