What makes Time Relics: Gears of Light such an interesting game is that this Hidden Object game has a very interesting plot that actually thickens throughout the game, it doesn’t stagnate. It is an incredibly original plot, very immersive and adventurous and it goes as follows: You take the role of one of the Guardians of Light, whose main task is to make good to society. You are the youngest member of this secret society who is stationed in an interesting clock tower, whose main clock keeper, Elchron, suddenly goes very strange. He does something ill to time, and it completely stops, making everything misbalanced. As the time is stopped you understand what fatal consequences this could have for the world, and you embark on the exciting quest of finding remaining Gears of Light that will restore the time to the clock tower and to the city. Many of the Guardians are actually being killed, scattered away or being scared by the recent events, so it’s only up to you the restore the time back to this world! You must admit that this storyline is great, absolutely immersive!
Time Relics: Gears of Light takes pride very much in its gameplay, as it is one of the best features in the game. What is totally new and innovative in this game are its Hidden Object lists which are textual, but based on three different types of color markers: blue, yellow and white. White markers signal normal objects which you are to find, while blue shows unique objects that need the rune or the transformation to the object that will restore it to its former state. Yellow markers show interactive items, which need to be combined or moved. Puzzles and mini games fit in between Hidden Object scenes, which makes them more balnced and fun. Some of the puzzles and mini games are very unique, and completely new, but none of them are too hard, so that you cannot solve them. There is one particular, putting scenes from the game in right order, and it is very original and absolutely innovative, but if you were skipping scenes, this might be a bit hard. Of course if you DO get stuck, for whichever reason that might be, you will be able to choose from the wide choice of help: hint system, skip buttons, or your own journal, which allows you to replay the scenes from the game even when you are not playing them.
Graphics and music in Time Relics: Gears of Light are great, but there is nothing more to be said about them, except that they are absolutely stunning and they together create an unbelievable atmosphere!
