Factorio

Factorio is a resource management game developed by a small developing team from Wube Software. It all starts at a crash site of a spaceship. Having nothing but a pickaxe at your disposal, you have to assemble simple mechanisms to extract basic materials such as iron, water, wood, and ore from an unfriendly alien planet. But that won't give you the expected results any time soon. It makes sense to upgrade them constantly and build more intricated structures gradually evolving once small manufacture into a huge factory that fires on all cylinders. When the extraction is fully arranged the next puzzle is logistics and transportation of resources. The solution is a railroad and your very own train with a set of cars. Railroads tend to become complicated and require programmable adjustment. To increase the pressure, there are hostile life forms you must defend yourself from. As your powerhouse evolves, it seizes more territories which aliens aren't ok with. They gang up on your buildings and machines that operate with clockwork precision. To defend what you've achieved you may set turrets, equip yourself with firearms, and construct combat vehicles (tanks, off-roaders) to eliminate the enemy in no time. Why do you need to do all this back-breaking work? According to the Scenario mode, you must escape from this planet in a freshly created rocket. This particular game mode suits those players who are into the completion of challenges and quests in sequence. Players who are more into limitless possibilities can also find what they're looking for in this game as free play is at the core of the gameplay. Playing together in a multiplayer is a good idea because it helps to assemble and protect your creations more effectively. Apart from that, Factorio has an active modding community with approved mods available right from the game menu. You're welcome to create your own. This can be a simple tweak that automates routine or a full-blown map with its challenges and goals.
