Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

The sandbox world of Calradia has steeped in blood and gore once again in the Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord video game. This is a sequel to the famous RPG and strategy simulator Warband addon. However, it takes us back for 210 years in the timeline and depicts the decline of the Calradic Empire. Singleplayer gameplay remains basically the same: choose a character, gather troops, and take part in a great number of quests for money and glory improving skills and weapons on the way. If a diplomatic approach didn't work out, declaring war is the only way to win. Right now, a long-awaited M&B sequel is available in early access, but a few improvements are already distinctive in comparison with its predecessor. First of all, sieges rely more on strategy now. It is possible for the attacking party to construct siege engines and situate them in an optimal position before combat. In its turn, castles and strongholds are designed for the advantage of defenders which makes it tricky to take them over. Secondly, relationships between NPCs and players are more complexed now. Bribing and persuading can be used to make allies and trade with merchants. Moreover, the player's in-game descendants will be able to inherit property and armies which automatically makes them new playable characters. A multiplayer mode offers spectacle battles across picturesque maps and game modes: duels or horde massacres. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is perfect for the modding community too. Creative modders are equipped with various modding tools to push the limits of this perfectly balanced game even further.
