Outpost Zero

Outpost Zero is a base-building simulator that requires survival skills from a player. Developed by an indie team from Symmetric Games, this game has everything that it takes to become the next big thing in the survival genre. Story-wise there is an ongoing cataclysm on Earth that pushes corporations to explore new planets for further colonization. To achieve that, spaceships packed with robots and human embryos are dispatched to the distant and unexplored edges of the universe. These spaceships drop a pod with a single robot upon reaching any suitable-looking planet. Your story as one of such robots begins with landing on the planet Gaiya. You need to collect basic resources that will be enough to set up a foundation of a base and simple automated machine tools such as a furnace and recharger. You'll quickly learn that you're not alone on this planet. Apart from unfriendly alien lifeforms, you'll be visited by anarchic pirate gangs who are going to take away everything you created. The more you progress, the tougher enemy waves become. You'll have to reinforce your base with self-defense means (for instance, turrets) and make it durable against harsh weather conditions such as sandstorms. Outpost Zero has still the Early Access status on Steam and some reports suggest that devs put this project on the back burner. So, it's only logical to purchase the game only if developers will show signs of activity.
